Historical Futures Data – Lean Hogs
|Lean Hogs (HE/LH/LHA)|
Lean Hogs Futures Data Facts
The US is the largest exporter of pork globally. Most of the hogs are raised in the Midwest states, with Iowa, Minnesota and North Carolina being the biggest producers of lean hogs.
The prices of Corn and Lean Hogs are closely related. This strong relationship is because the hogs being raised have a large quantity of corn in their diets. As the price of corn increases, farmers cannot afford to feed their livestock, resulting in hogs being sold earlier. Lean hog futures then drop in price as supply increases.
